The 2 Cabbies
Welcome to The 2 Cabbies website.
The Two Cabbies being myself (Mark Anthony) and Paul Hopkinson plan to travel from the UK to Hobart Tasmania, in Australia using as much loaned or donated transport as possible along the way.
We also aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible by using as many self propelled or electric forms of transport that we can gain the use of, such as walking, scooters, bikes, trikkes, skates etc.

The 2 Cabbies challenge.
The challenge will start here in the UK in our home town of Alfreton, Derbyshire. We aim to start the challenge around March 2013. We will travel around the UK, before setting out towards America and finally on to Australia. Where we plan to end the challenge in Hobart, Tasmania.
The challenge will be completed by the cabbies Mark and Paul, who currently work in the Amber Valley area of Derbyshire, England.
Before the we do the main challenge we will be doing a few other smaller challenges so keep coming back to see what these are.
You will be a able to keep track by checking out the Challenges page.
Charity and The 2 Cabbies.
This is not the first challenge the 2 cabbies have completed. On the 29th of August 2011, myself and Paul walked from Riddings in Derbyshire to Skegness.
We did this to raise money for various charities, these were The Woodland Trust, Cancer Research, Pancreatic Cancer UK and When You Wish Upon A Star.
You can watch the video below.
The 2 cabbies once again plan to raise money for the charities mentioned above. However due to our strong desire to help families with terminally ill children create lasting memories, we will be donating the majority of the money raised to the When You Wish Upon A Star charity.
Like many people world wide I (Mark) have a personal reason for supporting and promoting this charity. Eight years ago my dad Ralph Anthony was given six months to live. Luckily he received an operation which gave us an extra eight years with him in our lives.
During this time my dad was able to continue to lead a full filling life, which created years of precious memories for all those of us who were close to him. These memories helped us all to deal with his slow decline in health and his loss when he passed away on the 20th Of October 2011.
One of the most precious to me is the fact that he came to see me off on my sponsored walk to skegness last year, and that I got to see how proud he was of me for completing the walk. Therefor you will understand how important to me it is to complete this challenge and raise as much of our target of £100,000 as possible in his memory.
The challenge will be filmed along the way and we will produce a series of videos that you will be able to view online.
So please keep coming back to the 2 cabbies page to see more.
